Key West Fishing Areas

Key West is blessed with a wonderful variety of styles of
fishing. With the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of
Mexico on the other, we can offer fishing to suit all tastes.
Here's a quick rundown on what we have to offer, click on the
titles for more detail and some nice pictures :
Fishing in Key
West Harbor
The harbor is home to many different species of fish but the
king of them all is the "Silver King" himself, the Tarpon.
Other inhabitants include Permit, Snapper, Grouper and
Sharks.
Reef Fishing in Key
West With a huge reef only a few miles out into the
Atlantic, Key West can offer some of the best fishing for reef
species such as Snapper or Grouper to be found anywhere in the
world.
Wreck Fishing in
Key West During the 1800's there was an average of one
shipwreck per week on the reef around Key West. Thankfully that
number has dwindled to a tiny proportion of wrecks these days
but there are still a few old shrimp boats and coasters that
meet their ends in the waters surrounding the city. All of
these wrecks provide a wonderful habitat for the huge numbers
of fish that inhabit the wrecks.
Offshore fishing
in Key West
Deep blue water is found just a few miles out into the Atlantic
and that water holds lots of opportunist feeders such as
Sailfish, Kingfish, Cobia, Dolphin Fish and even a few
Marlin.
